About the medicine
Anti-hemorrhoid ointment contains active substances that relieve hemorrhoid-related problems. Bismuth subgallate, zinc oxide, Peru balsam, and liquid witch hazel extract act as astringents and antiseptics. Calendula extract provides anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, promoting wound healing. Lidocaine hydrochloride relieves pain and itching.
Anti-hemorrhoid ointment is recommended for treating internal and external hemorrhoids, eczema and itching around the anus, anal fissures, and for relieving symptoms before and after hemorrhoid surgery.
Before using the medicine
Do not use Anti-hemorrhoid ointment if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in this product.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. There are no data on the safety of using Anti-hemorrhoid ointment during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Children Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended due to a lack of adequate data.
Other medicines and Anti-hemorrhoid ointment Lidocaine hydrochloride may alter the effect of medicines used to treat heart arrhythmia; therefore, caution is advised when using the ointment in these patients.
Driving and using machines The ointment is not known to affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Warnings and precautions Anti-hemorrhoid ointment contains:

Peru balsam, which may cause local skin reactions. If your condition does not improve within one week or worsens, consult a doctor. In case of frequent bleeding from hemorrhoids, consult a doctor before using the ointment. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with plenty of lukewarm water.
How to use the medicine
Follow your pharmacist’s or doctor’s instructions carefully. Unless advised otherwise by your doctor or pharmacist, follow these instructions. It is best to use Anti-hemorrhoid ointment after a bowel movement. Before application, wash the anal area thoroughly with cold water or cooled chamomile tea or oak bark tea. For external hemorrhoids, apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily, rubbing it in gently. For internal hemorrhoids, use the provided applicator to gently squeeze the ointment from the tube into the rectum. Recommended use is twice daily (morning and evening). Treatment should not exceed 14 days. The use of rectal ointment may cause staining of underwear, so using appropriate protection is recommended.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Anti-hemorrhoid ointment can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. In rare cases, it may cause skin hypersensitivity reactions or skin irritation at the application site.
Composition of the medicine
1 g of rectal ointment contains:

30 mg lidocaine hydrochloride (Lidocaini hydrochloridum),

50 mg liquid witch hazel leaf extract (Hamamelis virginiana L., folium),

50 mg bismuth subgallate (Bismuthi subgallas),

50 mg zinc oxide (Zinci oxidum),

50 mg Peru balsam (Balsamum peruvianum). Excipients: white soft paraffin, lanolin (E913).
Appearance of Anti-hemorrhoid ointment and contents of the pack
Anti-hemorrhoid ointment is yellow-brown in color with a characteristic odor. It is available in a tube containing 30 g of ointment in a box with an applicator and an enclosed package leaflet.
